The Indomitable Spirit of Edmonia Lewis. A Narrative Biography,  by Harry Henderson ( co-author of A History of African American Art from 1792 to the Present) and Albert Henderson.

Based primarily on decades of research by Harry Henderson (co-author of A History of African American Artists from 1792 to the Present), this fresh look at Edmonia Lewis’s life and art discusses how she helped shape today’s world.  Revealing the mystery of her final days and more essential facts and sources than ever before collected and published, it includes more than 100,000 words, 50 illustrations (12 in color), 800 notes, a bibliography, and a list of more than 100 works with notes on more than twenty museums that collect her work.

Independent Opinion:  “The book provides crystalline accounts of Lewis’s feuds and mentorships, as well as rich illustrations of the works being discussed throughout. Overall, the authors deliver a well-constructed mix of primary resources, critical analysis and literary flourishes.” – Kirkus Reviews. “Thank you so much for your excellent research … Your work on Edmonia Lewis will be used for many years to come by scholars, art historians, art collectors and anyone interested in knowing more about this outstanding woman”  – Dr. Sheryl Colyer.  “” – Goodreads.

Have you ever felt lost as a parent?
Do you really know your children?
As a child, have you ever felt alone?
is not your ordinary parenting book. The cover images depict something
raw and naked. The topics dealt with are real and visceral. It is a
story that we do not often tell: the story of parenting from a child’s
point of view. A roller coaster of emotions awaits readers as the author
chronicles the highs and many lows of his life. It blends sound
research and experience with gentle storytelling to show parents the
effect their parenting has on their children.
by dysfunction and tragedy, the author opens his life in order to help
others better understand the human condition, and ultimately prevent
other children from growing up the same way he did. The aim is to help
parents notice the signs of dysfunction. More importantly, to do
something about it before it is too late. In addition, to tell others
who grew up lonely, or in imperfect circumstances, that they are not

How does an author best get book reviews? What of interviews, blogs and social media? How can a new author expect to be seen while crowding the lane with other authors of his/her genre?
Marketing Your Book on a Budget is tiny for a reason; any author can afford it. But be prepared for the endless information enclosed. You’ll never wonder again about the best ways to speak up about your book, get free advertising, or learn why postcards can help you get the word out faster and easier than any other way.
It’s easy to say you’re going to market your book, far more difficult to actually do it, but this handy guide will help you every step of the way, even while your heart is pumping wildly the first time you have to speak about your book to someone else.

Idea Creations Press:

This is the
book Big Government and Hollywood doesn’t want you to read.
With national debt in excess of our Gross
Domestic Product the nation is in a major crisis point.   Adding deficits of 1 trillion dollars per
year has put a point of no return on the horizon. We need to turn on our heels
and head in another direction, immediately!
Congress and the government as a whole seem
unwilling to recognize this fact and take steps to stop the coming disaster.
Americans need to exercise some common
sense and take action in our own lives and our own homes to reverse this trend,
to fix the economic and moral mess this nation has become. People need to
invest effort in turning our communities and neighborhoods around, to pay
attention to what is going on around us and get involved.
This book looks at various aspects of
American life, stripping away the complexity and the politics and revealing a
common sense look at the core issues. It puts forth ideas for corrections that
fix the causes of the problems rather than continually bandaiding the
symptoms… at great cost to the American people.
Here, partisanship is bypassed by looking
at the core facts, not the grandstanding political fluff and spin that
dominates what passes for NEWS today.
Jeffrey P Gorman was born in a steel
mill town outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1970. Jeffrey watched the great
steel industry collapse all around as Aunts, Uncles and family friends lost
their jobs. After several failed attempts to write books beginning at the age
of 12 he set aside the pen for more usual teenage pursuits such as Boy Scouts,
Cars and Rock and Roll. Graduating from Clarion University in 1992 with a
degree in Broadcast Communication, hopes of a music career was sidetracked into
an 8 year career in  News/Talk
radio.  As a local News Director of WKZV
radio and newscaster/producer for both local and national talk radio shows for
WBVP AM,  he developed a keen interest in
economics and politics fueled by the elections of 1996 and after countless
hours of broadcasting has been able to scrape away the fluff and partisanship
and get at the core of the issues. Leaving the radio business to start a family
and embark on a career in Information Technology and E-Commerce, the time has
come to take action and write to help make this country a better place.  Jeffrey lives in the Charlotte, North
Carolina area with his wife Tammy and 5 children, is on the leadership team at
Abundant Life Lutheran Church/Charlotte Blind Outreach,
teaches bible school and has been involved as a Cub Scout leader for several
years.  Jeffrey also has a degree in
Management Information Systems from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and
is currently attending Wingate University for a Masters of Business
Administration. He still holds out hope that America will retain its greatness
and that someday his guitars will no longer collect as much dust.

storycraft – strictly when you need them. The author has written nearly a

Novel will tell you how to sell it to publishers and agents.

Buckley’s Story is the story of how one small cat changed the author’s life in ways she never could have imagined. In this warm-hearted memoir, Ingrid King shares the story of Buckley, a joyful, enthusiastic and affectionate tortoiseshell cat she meets while managing a veterinary hospital. When Ingrid leaves her job at the veterinary hospital to start her own business, Buckley comes home to live with her and Amber, another tortoiseshell cat who had adopted the author several years earlier.

Buckley is diagnosed with heart disease after only two years of living with Ingrid, and caring for Buckley through her illness only deepens the bond between cat and human. Interspersed with well-researched information about cat health in general, and heart disease in particular, the author describes the challenges and rewards of managing illness in a feline companion, and ultimately helping her through the final transition. Ingrid shares both the day-to-day joys of living with a special cat as well as the profound grief that comes with losing a beloved animal companion.

Buckley’s Story is a celebration of the soul connection between animals and humans, a connection that is eternal and transcends the physical dimension.

It all started with Nina Marana’s blog It became her mission to create simple recipes for the everyday cook from teenagers to goldenagers. She wanted the food in her recipes to save people’s pocket books, rather than break the bank. In her book you will find an abundance of recipes from chicken, beef, side dishes and more. And if you have a recipe question all you have to do is Ask Ms Recipe and you might get an answer to that nagging recipe question you have had for years. Just Ask Ms Recipe……

Nina Marana started her dream of writing a cookbook when she was just seven years old. It all began watching her mother and two Grandmothers cooking in the kitchen. She learned to experiment in the kitchen by cooking for her three siblings with just a few ingredients while her parents were at work. Just two years ago she started her blog Ask Ms Recipe which evolved into writing her first book Ask Ms Recipe: Simple Recipes that Make Cents.
