Jean LeGrand is unsure whether he cooks because he likes to eat or that he eats because he likes to cook.

“Actually,” he says,  “I cook for a number of reasons beyond just paying  the bills.” Here are some of the reasons he offers:

“I think cooking is an art, a form of self-expression, so I cook to create something new.”

“I like how cooking brings family and friends together.”

“I enjoy the creative process and get a kick out of watching my friends and family enjoy my creations.”

“The exploration aspect of cooking — new tastes and new techniques — is very exciting.”

“I’m good at it, so I get a great feeling of satisfaction and pride when I make a dish that  brings compliments … the biggest one being when things start to get quiet because everybody is enjoying the food experience so much that they forget to talk.”

LeGrand  writes recipe books because “I like the fact that I can take all the enjoyment I get from cooking and extend it beyond my circle of family and friends. It makes me happy that I’m helping people enjoy both the cooking and eating side of great food.”

  1. 0 out of 5 stars Awesome recipes!

This book has over 40 paleo recipes taken from different acclaimed paleo cookbook authors. I really like the choice of recipes. I am sure it will please any paleo diet followers. The recipes are presented through each different book from where the recipe originates and have a direct link to these books if you would like to see more. I made the grilled shrimp scampis and the Hawaïan Kalua pork, both recipes were delicious. There is also an overview of what the paleo diet is at the beginning of the book. Well written book with great recipe ideas.

  1. 0 out of 5 stars Great book for Paleo lovers and those who are curious about the diet

Where else can you quickly gather recipes from over 30 Paleo cookbooks, let alone try the favorites of the authors? In addition, the cookbook quickly lays out the diet, in case this is a new discovery, and general recommendations are provided. Each recipe not only lists the usual ingredients, directions, and servings but also provides the nutritional information, the cookbook title, and the author — just in case you want to try more of their offerings. There’s a wide range, too. Have you heard of the Paleo Bacon Cookbook? What about Paleo Mexican-style? This is a great sample of recipes that makes for a unique and different kind of recipe cookbook.
